pLOT v1.0.7a changes a few things (hopefully for the better).

First, a new graphic is available.  The Headless Arrow graphic is simply an arrow without those pointy arowheady things protruding.  It is similar to the type of arrow used by some other plasmid mappers.  See below the Cas9 vs AmpR graphics.

Second, you can now change the width of a feature either from the Annotations window or, after you've clicked on a feature, through the shortcut keys Ctrl + Left (decrease width) and Ctrl + Right (increase width) as shown below with the decreased AmpR and increased Cas.

Third, the molecular weight ladders have been moved from the pLOT.exe itself to a text .dat file (which will need to be copied to the pLOT directory).  This will allow the future addition on ladders without having to download the executable.  Related to this, I've added a bunch of new ladders from Invitrogen and ThermoFisher into that .dat file.

Fourth, I got tired of having to go to the Annotations window to move an annotation forward of backward.  Thus, I've added the "Move Forward/Backward" menus in the popup menu when you right click a feature.  Alternatively, after you've clicked a feature or its label, you can move it forward or backwards in the drawing order by holding down [Ctrl] and pressing the "+" or "-" keys respectively.

Lastly, there are new shortcut keys available from the main window to help speed things up including ones to move a feature up or down in the drawing order and up or down on the map.

Shortcut keys on the main window:
Ctrl + E opens up the Annotations editor.  This now automatically goes to the last item clicked.
Ctrl + R opens the restriction enzyme selection window
Ctrl + G opens up the virtual gel
Ctrl + I opens the window to insert a sequence
Ctrl + D opens up the window to delete a part of the sequence
Ctrl + + moves the last feature you clicked on up one in the drawing order
Ctrl + -  moves the last feature you clicked on down one in the drawing order
Ctrl + Up moves the last feature you clicked on away from the vector center
Ctrl + Down  moves the last feature you clicked on towards the vector center
Ctrl + Left decreases the width of the last feature you clicked on

Ctrl + Right increases the width of the last feature you clicked on

   * Bug fix *
  • Fixes a bug in the gel window that doesn't restore erased mixes if you click cancel.
  • Fixed a bug that didn't display updates to feature starts when made (it saved fine and would should up correctly the next time the file was opened though).
